That old saying "youth is wasted on the young" has
never rang truer lately, as I approach another
birthday. I think of that old cliche "if I only knew then
what I know now". There have been days when I find myself
reaching back to what was, rather than finding satisfaction
in where I am.
Seems the older we become the faster time
appears to pass. I have to say many things that seemed so
important in my younger years are no longer that important.
Age really has a way of changing priorities.
When we are young we think we are going to live forever.
Age has a way of redefining that!
When we are young we rush to spend every minute of every day
being busy. Age has a way of slowing us down!
Age has a way of making you realize that we really "don't need
to sweat the small stuff".
Especially if we are Christians.
God's word is TRUE and we only need to TRUST Him in all things.
He takes such good care of us!
I am learning with age that
it is good to savor that quiet moment at sunset, or to
stop and watch the puffy clouds moving across a blue sky,
or spend the day fishing with your husband(picture above).
Age has a way of bringing us to a place where we realize
how much we have to be thankful for.
What a peaceful picture. That is easier said than done - "don't sweat the small stuff". Too often I say that and the next thing I know I am "sweating the small stuff".
ReplyDeleteI pray for the kind of faith that Abraham showed when he was about to offer Isaac on the alter and the angel told him to stop.
Like Jason said - "faith that is so yielded to God that I can trust Him with all things even the "small stuff".
